The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Alif, Lam, Meem. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 Who believe in the unseen, establish prayer, and spend out of what We have provided for them, 3 Who believe in that which has been sent down to you (Prophet Muhammad) and what has been sent down before you (to Prophets Jesus and Moses) and firmly believe in the Everlasting Life. 4 These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful. 5 As for the unbelievers, alike it is to them whether thou hast warned them or hast not warned them, they do not believe. 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
