And recite to them the story of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 'Do they hear you when you call on them' He asked. 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me. 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 “And the One Who, upon Whom I pin my hopes, will forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgement.” 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 “And make me among the inheritors of the Gardens of serenity.” 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 and disgrace me not on the Day when people will be raised to life, 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said unto them: Where is (all) that ye used to worship 92 Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 And they will say, and they will be quarrelling in it: 96 By Allah! we were certainly in manifest error, 97 When we made you equal with the Lord of the Worlds. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 Nor any loving friend. 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 103 Verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 104
