Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
