Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 Thamood, they were destroyed by the violent shout (of Gabriel), 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Fir'awn and those before him and the overturned cities committed sin. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, so He seized them with a seizure exceeding [in severity]. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall be in a pleasing life 21 in a high Garden, 22 The fruits of which are near at hand: 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But, he who is given his book in his left hand will say: 'Woe to me, would that my book had not been given to me! 25 and neither known this my account! 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 I am bereft of power." 29 (A command will be issued): “Seize him and shackle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 And then insert him in a chain whereof the length is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 which only the sinners eat". 37
