And recount to them the story of Abraham: 69 Behold, he said to his father and his people: "What worship ye?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, "Do they hear you when you supplicate? 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 "You and your forefathers preceding you." 76 Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds, 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 and do not put me to shame on the Day when all shall be raised from the dead: 87 the Day on which neither wealth will be of any use, nor children, 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 When Paradise shall be brought near to the God-fearing 90 And hell will be revealed for the astray. 91 "And it shall be said to them: 'Where are the (gods) ye worshipped- 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then they shall be hurled therein, they and the seduced ones. 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 They will dispute between themselves therein, and will say, 96 By Allah, we were truly in a manifest error, 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none led us astray except the culprits. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 And not a devoted friend. 101 Oh, that we had another turn (on earth), that we might be of the believers! 102 Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
