And recite to them the news of Ibrahim. 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They answered: We worship idols, and we remain ever devoted to them." 71 He asked: "Do they hear you when you call them 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing so." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 Who will make me die, then give me life again, 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Bestow Hukman (religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood) on me, and join me with the righteous; 83 And give unto me a good report in later generations. 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight; 85 "Forgive my father, for that he is among those astray; 86 and do not disgrace me on the Day when all people are resurrected, 87 The day on which property will not avail, nor sons 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 And Paradise will be brought close for the pious. 90 And the hell shall be made manifest to the erring ones, 91 and they will be asked: "Where are the gods that you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators 94 and the hosts of Iblis - all together. 95 They will say while they dispute therein, 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 when we assigned to you a position equal to that of the Lord of the Universe. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 no loyal friend. 101 If we could only return to the world and be among the believers." 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 Verily Your Lord is Immensely Mighty, Ever Compassionate. 104
