Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
