Hast thou considered him who turns his back 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that He it is Who giveth death and giveth life; 44 and that it is He who creates the two kinds - the male and the female 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
