Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 Taste your burning: this is that which ye sought to be hastened. 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
