The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the shining star -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And no trifle. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
