۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 apart from God, and guide them unto the path of Hell! 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 What aileth you that ye help not one another? 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And they will turn to one another and question one another. 27 They will say: "It was you who used to come to us from the right side [i.e. from the right side of one of us and beautify for us every evil, order us for polytheism, and stop us from the truth i.e. Islamic Monotheism and from every good deed]." 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 So this day they all are partners in the punishment. 33 This is how We deal with the criminals. 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 And they said: are we going to abandon our gods on account of a poet distracted? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment, 38 “And you will not be compensated except for your deeds.” 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them there is a known provision, 41 Fruits. And they will be honoured 42 In the Gardens of delight, 43 Facing each other on Thrones (of Dignity): 44 With cups from a flowing stream being passed around, 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 there is neither sickness in it, nor intoxication. 47 With them will be spouses, modest of gaze and beautiful of eye, 48 like closely guarded pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 One of them says, 'I had a comrade 51 'Do you believe in the Day of Judgment? 52 after we die and become dust and bones, we shall be brought to judgement?'" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 He looked down and saw him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say, "By God! You almost brought me to ruin! 56 for had it not been for my Sustainer's favour, I would surely be [now] among those who are given over [to suffering]! 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 Save our first death, and are we not to be tormented? 59 This is certainly the greatest triumph 60 for which one must strive hard. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 It is a tree that grows from the bottom of Hell; 64 Its produce is as it were the heads of the serpents. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Surely they found their fathers going astray, 69 So they in their footsteps are rushing. 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 though We had sent among them warners. 72 Then see the nature of the consequence for those warned, 73 Save the bondmen of Allah sincere. 74
