Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 He began to feel afraid. They said, "Do not be afraid," and then gave him the glad news of the birth of a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 So We brought forth such believers as were in it, 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 and left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord, so the Sa'iqah overtook them while they were looking. 44 So they were not able to rise up, nor could they defend themselves- 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
