Thamud (people also) belied the warnings. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Was he the one of all of us to have been given the exposition? He is surely an impudent liar." 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Verily, We are sending the she-camel as a test for them. So watch them [O Salih (Saleh)], and be patient! 27 And inform them that the water is shared between them; every share of the water shall be regulated. 28 But they called their companion who took a sword and hamstrung her. 29 How was then My punishment of which they had been warned? 30 We sent a single blast against them, and they were reduced to husks of a decayed fence. 31 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 32 The people of Lut rejected (his) warning. 33 Indeed We sent a shower of stones upon them, except the family of Lut; We rescued them before dawn. 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 And assuredly he had warned them of Our grasp, but: they doubted the warnings. 36 And they indeed sought to shame his guest (by asking to commit sodomy with them). So We blinded their eyes, "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 37 One early morning Our torment brought upon them utter destruction. 38 Taste then My torment and My warnings. 39 And We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? 40
