Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And the sepulchres are overturned, 4 Every soul shall know what it has sent before and held back. 5 O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 who has created thee, and formed thee in accordance with what thou art meant' to be, and shaped thy nature in just proportions, 7 In whatever shape He will He could surely have fashioned you. 8 Nay! but you give the lie to the judgment day, 9 you do so the while there are watchers over you; 10 The honourable recorders. 11 They know whatever you do. 12 Indeed the virtuous are in serenity. 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 [a fire] which they shall enter on Judgment Day, 15 And they will not be able to keep away therefrom. 16 And what will explain to thee what the Day of Judgment is? 17 Again, what shall teach thee what is the Day of Doom? 18 (It will be) the Day when no soul shall have power (to do) aught for another: For the command, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
