Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 These are the verses of the Wise Book, 2 A guidance and mercy for the righteous 3 Those who keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate and they are certain of the hereafter. 4 These are on guidance from their Lord, and these! they are the blissful ones. 5 But there are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning), to mislead (men) from the Path of Allah and throw ridicule (on the Path): for such there will be a Humiliating Penalty. 6 When Our verses are recited to such a person, he arrogantly turns away, as though he had not heard them, or as though there was a deafness in his ears. So announce to him the tidings of a grievous chastisement. 7 But for those who believe and do good works are Gardens of Bliss, 8 They will abide in them for ever. The promise of God is true; and He is all-mighty and all-wise. 9 He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills, so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every goodly kind to grow therein. 10 This is the Creation of Allah. Now show me that which those (ye worship) beside Him have created. Nay, but the wrong-doers are in error manifest! 11
