The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By oath of the beloved shining star Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him), when he returned from the Ascent. 1 Your companion does not err, nor does he go astray; 2 and neither does he speak out of his own desire: 3 This is only revelation communicated, 4 He was taught by [an angel] who is mighty in power, 5 One strong of make. Then he stood straight. 6 And he was on the horizon of the highest heaven. 7 then he drew near, and became close 8 Until a space of two bow (arcs) or even less remained, 9 And He revealed to His servant what He revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) heart lied not (in seeing) what he (Muhammad SAW) saw. 11 What! So do you dispute with him regarding what he saw? 12 Indeed, he saw him in another descent 13 At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary - 14 Near it is the Garden of Refuge - 15 (This was) when the lote-tree was covered with that which covered it. 16 His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, 17 Assuredly he beheld of the sign of his Lord, the greatest. 18 Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza 19 And another, the third (goddess), Manat? 20 Is it for you the males and for Him the females? 21 That indeed is a division most unfair! 22 These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! 23 Does man imagine that whatever he wishes for is right for him? 24 But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world). 25

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
