And [so, O Prophet,] if they give thee the lie, say: "To me [shall be accounted] my doings, and to you, your doings: you are not accountable for what I am doing, and I am not accountable for whatever you do." 41 Some of them listen to you: But can you make the deaf hear who do not understand a thing? 42 And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind although they will not [attempt to] see? 43 Surely Allah does not wrong men; they rather wrong themselves. 44 And on the Day when He shall gather them together, it will seem to them as if they had not tarried in the world longer than an hour of a day. They will recognize one another; lost indeed will be those who considered it a lie that they were destined to meet God, and did not follow the right path. 45 Whether We let you see (during your lifetime) some of the chastisement with which We threaten them, or We call you unto Us (before the chastisement strikes them), in any case they are bound to return to Us. Allah is witness to all what they do. 46 And every nation had an apostle; so when their apostle came, the matter was decided between them with justice and they shall not be dealt with unjustly. 47 They say:'If what you promise is true, when will this threat be fulfilled?' 48 Say, "I have no control over any harm or benefit to myself, except by the will of God. For every people, however, there is an appointed term. When the end of their term arrives, they cannot postpone it for an hour, nor can they advance it." 49 Say: 'Have you considered? If His chastisement comes upon you by night or day, what part of it will the sinners seek to hasten? 50 Is it, then, when it hath befallen, that ye will believe therein now? whereas ye have surely been hastening it on. 51 The unjust will be told, "Suffer the everlasting torment. Do you expect a recompense other than what you deserve? 52 They ask you to tell them if it is true. Say: 'Yes, by my Lord! It is true, and you cannot frustrate it' 53
