And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 and the jinn We had created before from flaming fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 The angels bowed in homage in a body 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 Said He, 'What ails thee, Iblis, that thou art not among those bowing?' 32 He said: I am not one to prostrate myself unto a mortal whom Thou hast created out of potter's clay of black mud altered! 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 "Except Thy servants among them, sincere and purified (by Thy Grace)." 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 Surely, as regards My servants, you have no authority, over them except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 it has seven gates: and each gate has a portion of them allotted to it. 44
