At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 he said, "You are strangers [to me]." 62 They answered: "Nay, but we have come unto thee with [the announcement of] something that they [who are given to evil] have always been wont to call in question, 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We decreed for him that commandment, that the last remnant of those should be cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. 67 He said: "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 Have fear of Allah, and do not humiliate me." 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, [O Muhammad], indeed they were, in their intoxication, wandering blindly. 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 We laid it (the city) upside down and rained stones of baked clay upon them. 74 Surely! In this are signs, for those who see (or understand or learn the lessons from the Signs of Allah). 75 And indeed, those cities are [situated] on an established road. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 And the people of Aykah were also wrong-doers. 78 We therefore took revenge from them; and indeed both these townships are situated on an open road. 79
