The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when the camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 when the buried female infant is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the scrolls are laid open; 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And the breath of morning 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 but you shall not, unless Allah wills, the Lord of all the Worlds. 29
