Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

THE AVARICE OF plenitude keeps you occupied 1 Until you visit the graveyards. 2 But no, indeed, you shall soon know. 3 Nay! Nay! you shall soon know. 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 For ye will behold hell-fire. 6 Again, indeed you will see it with certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8
