[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 and ease my task for me, 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 so that they may understand me. 28 And give me as assistant from my family 29 "Aaron, my brother; 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may glorify Thee much 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 Surely Thou seest into us.' 35 Allah said: "You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)! 36 And certainly We bestowed on you a favor at another time; 37 "When We inspired your mother with that which We inspired. 38 “That, ‘Put him into a chest and cast it into the river, so the river shall deposit it on to a shore – therefore one who is an enemy to Me and you, shall pick him up’; and I bestowed upon you love from Myself; and for you to be brought up in My sight.” 39 Your sister went (to them) and said: 'Shall I guide you to one who will nurse him' And so We restored you to your mother, so that her eyes might rejoice and that she might not sorrow. And when you killed a soul We saved you from grief and then We tried you with many trials. You stayed among the people of Midian for a number of years, and then, Moses, you came here according to a decree. 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 Go to Pharaoh, for he has waxed insolent; 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 They said, "Our Lord, indeed we are afraid that he will hasten [punishment] against us or that he will transgress." 45 (The Lord) said: "Be not afraid. I am verily with you, and I hear and see. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement awaits those who called the lie to the truth and turned away from it.' " 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 He said, 'Our Lord is He who gave everything its creation, then guided it.' 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Moses said, "My Lord alone has knowledge of that, recorded in a Book. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who has made earth for you like a bed (spread out); and has opened roads (ways and paths etc.) for you therein; and has sent down water (rain) from the sky. And We have brought forth with it various kinds of vegetation. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle; most surely there are signs in this for those endowed with understanding. 54
