The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca. First revelation of the Quran before The Pen (Al-Qalam)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord Who created, 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 taught man what he did not know. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 Because he sees himself self-sufficient. 7 However, (all things) will return to your Lord. 8 HAST THOU ever considered him who tries to prevent 9 A servant when he prays? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 The lying, sinful forelock - 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call the angels of Hell. 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
