And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They replied, "But we found our fathers doing the same." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 "Who created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 "And it is He Who feeds me and gives me to drink. 79 And when I sicken, then He healeth me. 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord! Vouchsafe me wisdom and unite me to the righteous. 83 And appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the latter. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 And forgive my father; verily he is of the erring. 86 Degrade me not upon the day when they are raised up, 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 except him who comes before Allah with a pure heart; 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators, 91 They will be asked: "Where are those you worshipped 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 So they shall be thrown down into it, they and the erring ones, 94 and the hosts of Iblis, all together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 "'By Allah, we were truly in an error manifest, 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 no caring friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
