And indeed, the Qur'an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 Upon thy heart, that thou mayst be (one) of the warners, 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And verily it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign unto them that the learned among the Children of Isra'il know it? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 they would still not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter into the hearts of the guilty. 200 they will not believe in it till they behold the grievous suffering 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 So for Our punishment are they impatient? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And afterwards comes to them that (punishment) which they had been promised! 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 verily, [even] from hearing it are they utterly debarred! 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 So if they do not obey you, then say, “Indeed I am unconcerned with what you do.” 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And your turning over and over among those who prostrate themselves before Allah. 219 He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you (O people!) upon whom the Shayatin (devils) descend? 221 They come down to every mendacious sinner, 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and that they [so often] say what they do not do [or feel]? 226 Except those who believe, work righteousness, engage much in the remembrance of Allah, and defend themselves only after they are unjustly attacked. And soon will the unjust assailants know what vicissitudes their affairs will take! 227
