This surely is a revelation from the Lord of the Universe: 192 which the truthful spirit has carried down 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 Truly it is in the Scriptures of the ancients. 196 Is it not a Sign to them that the Learned of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And had We revealed it unto any of the non-Arabs, 198 and had he recited it unto them [in his own tongue,] they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe therein until they behold the torment afflictive. 201 that will come upon them [on resurrection,] all of a sudden, without their being aware [of its approach]; 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they really want Our chastisement to be expedited? 204 Did you consider that if We were to let them enjoy life for many years 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 Never a city We destroyed, but it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 neither are they worthy of it, nor are they capable of it, 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you get up, 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every lying, wicked person, 222 The satans try to listen to the heavens but many of them are liars. 223 As for the poets - it is the seduced who follow them. 224 hast thou not seen how they wander in every valley 225 and say things which they do not act upon, 226 Except those who believe and do good and remember Allah much, and defend themselves after they are oppressed; and they who act unjustly shall know to what final place of turning they shall turn back. 227
