And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 the Faithful Spirit has brought it down 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 But the (Penalty) will come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 and then they will exclaim, "Could we have a respite?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Tell Me, if We do let them enjoy for years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 what will it then avail them, the enjoyment of days they were given? 207 And We destroyed no township but it had its warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 it behoves them not, neither are they able. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 and lower your wing to the believers who follow you. 215 If they disobey you, say, "I bear no responsibility for what you do." 216 And put your trust in the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 Who listens to you (for spreading rumours); but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Did you not see that they keep wandering in every valley? 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Not so the true believers who do good works and remember God with fervour and defend themselves only after they are wronged. The wrongdoers will soon know how evil a turn their affairs will take. 227
