Are (these two) alike?- one to whom We have made a goodly promise, and who is going to reach its (fulfilment), and one to whom We have given the good things of this life, but who, on the Day of Judgment, is to be among those brought up (for punishment)? 61 On that Day He will call to them, and say, "Where are those whom you claimed to be My partners?" 62 [whereupon] they against whom the word [of truth] shall thus stand revealed will exclaim: O our Sustainer! Those whom we caused to err so grievously, we but caused to err as we ourselves had been erring. We [now] disavow them before Thee: it was not us that they worshipped!" 63 It shall be said, 'Call you now upon your associates!' And they will call upon them, but they shall not answer them, and they shall see the chastisement-ah, if they had been guided! 64 And on the Day whereon He shall call unto them and say: what answer gave ye to the sent ones? 65 Bedimmed unto them shall be all excuses on that Day, wherefore they shall not be able to ask one of another. 66 But he who repents and believes and does good things may well be among the successful. 67 Thy Lord does create and choose as He pleases: no choice have they (in the matter): Glory to Allah! and far is He above the partners they ascribe (to Him)! 68 Your Lord knows all that their hearts hide or reveal. 69 And He is Allah, there is no god but He! All praise is due to Him in this (life) and the hereafter, and His is the judgment, and to Him you shall be brought back. 70 Say: "Just think, if God were to cover you up with night for ever until the Day of Doom, what other god apart from God will give you light? Why do you not pay heed?" 71 Say: "Have you ever considered [this]: If God had willed that there should always be daylight about you, without break, until the Day of Resurrection - is there any deity other than God that could bring you [the darkness of] night, wherein you might rest? Will you not, then, see [the truth]?" 72 He has made the night and day for you to rest as a mercy to you and seek His favor and that perhaps you will give Him thanks. 73 On the day when He will call to them – He will therefore proclaim, “Where are those partners of Mine, whom you had assumed?” 74 And We shall single out one witness from each community and say: "Bring your proof." Then will they know that God's is the judgement, and what they contrived will avail them not in the least. 75
