The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those (angels) ranged in ranks (or rows). 1 and those who drive away [the wicked] with reproof 2 And thus proclaim the Message (of Allah)! 3 surely, your God is One, 4 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and of what between them is Lord of the Easts. 5 We have adorned the lowest heaven with the beauty of the planets; 6 and have made them secure against every rebellious, satanic force, 7 they cannot overhear the Higher Assembly for they are pelted from every side, 8 To make them flee, and for them is a never-ending punishment. 9 Except him who snatches off but once, then there follows him a brightly shining flame. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 But you wonder, while they mock, 12 When they are reminded, they do not pay heed, 13 And seek to scoff when they behold a portent. 14 and say: "This is clearly nothing but [a mortal's] spellbinding eloquence! 15 They say, "Shall we be brought to life again after we die and turn into dust and bones? 16 And so also shall our forefathers of yore be raised to life?” 17 Say, "You will certainly be brought back to life in disgrace". 18 for that [resurrection which they deride] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry - and then, lo! they will begin to see [the truth] 19 They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense." 20 [And they will be told:] "This is the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false - the Day] which you were wont to call a lie!" 21
