The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And no trifle. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and so am I: 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
