The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers, 1 Those who humbly cry in their prayers. 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who are active in deeds of charity; 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 whereas such as seek to go beyond that [limit] are truly transgressors; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 these are the heirs 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 Man We did create from a quintessence (of clay); 12 Thereafter We made him of a sperm in a receptacle safe. 13 Then We made the sperm into a clot of congealed blood; then of that clot We made a (foetus) lump; then we made out of that lump bones and clothed the bones with flesh; then we developed out of it another creature. So blessed be Allah, the best to create! 14 Thereafter you are destined to die, 15 Then lo! on the Day of Resurrection ye are raised (again). 16 And We have made, above you, seven tracts; and We are never unmindful of (our) Creation. 17 We send down water from the sky in determined measure, and store it up in the earth; and We have power to drain it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 Also, a tree which grows on the Tor of Sinai and gives oil and relish for its eaters. 20 And indeed, for you in livestock is a lesson. We give you drink from that which is in their bellies, and for you in them are numerous benefits, and from them you eat. 21 And you are carried on them and on boats. 22
