Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
and We saved the Children of Israel from a humiliating punishment 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them (the Children of Israel) above the 'Alamin (mankind, and jinns) [during the time of Musa (Moses)] with knowledge, 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Yet these say: 34 "That [which is ahead of us] is but our first [and only] death, and we shall not be raised to life again. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those who were before them whom We destroyed? Indeed they were sinners. 37 And We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is in-between the twain sporting. 38 We created them not save with a purpose but most of them know not. 39 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] is the term appointed for all of them: 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
