Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 proclaiming good news and a warning. Yet most of them turn away and so do not listen. 4 They say, 'Our hearts are veiled from what thou callest us to, and in our ears is a heaviness, and between us and thee there is a veil; so act; we are acting!' 5 Say, O [Muhammad], "I am only a man like you to whom it has been revealed that your god is but one God; so take a straight course to Him and seek His forgiveness." And woe to those who associate others with Allah - 6 Who do not give a due share of their wealth for the welfare of others, and do not believe in the Hereafter. 7 [But,] verily, they who have attained to faith and do good works shall have a reward unending! 8
