Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and then cast (Allah's) remembrance (in people's hearts), 5 to excuse some and warn others: 6 surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and the mountains are blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 For the Day of sorting out (the men of Paradise from the men destined for Hell). 13 Would that you knew about the Day of Judgment! 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Destroyed We not the ancients? 16 Then caused the latter folk to follow after? 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Created We you not of water despicable, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 till a known term decreed? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe, on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 the living and the dead? 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 and yellow camels. 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 40
