Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
