Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Those who have forgotten in a state of intoxication. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
