Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he never yet been told of what was [said] in the revelations of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that it is He Who has created the two pairs, male and female? 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamood, and He did not spare them, 51 And also the people of Nuh aforetime. Verily they were even greater wrong-doers and more contumacious. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
