The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 and has taught him intelligible speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 There exists all kinds of fruits, palm-trees with sheathed blossoms, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets. 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
