Al-Mulk 2 of 2
It is He who made the earth submissive to you; therefore walk in its tracts, and eat of His provision; to Him is the Uprising. 15 Are you secure of those in the heaven that He should not make the earth to swallow you up? Then lo! it shall be in a state of commotion. 16 Or have ye taken security from Him Who is in the heaven that He will not let loose on you a hurricane? But ye shall know the manner of My warning. 17 But indeed men before them rejected (My warning): then how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)? 18 Do they not see the birds above them flying wings spread out or folded? Nothing holds them aloft but God. All things are within His purview. 19 Nay, who is there that can help you, (even as) an army, besides (Allah) Most Merciful? In nothing but delusion are the Unbelievers. 20 Or who is such that will give you sustenance if Allah stops His sustenance? In fact they persist in rebellion and hatred. 21 What, is he who walks, falling upon his face, more guided than he who walks upright on a Straight Path! 22 Say it is He Who has created you, and endowed you with hearing (ears), seeing (eyes), and hearts. Little thanks you give. 23 Say, "It is He who has scattered you on the earth; and it is to Him that you shall all be gathered [on the Day of Resurrection]. 24 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled, if ye say sooth? 25 Proclaim, “Surely Allah has its knowledge; and I am only a Herald of plain warning.” 26 Then, when they see it nigh at hand, the faces of the unbelievers will be vexed, and it will be said, 'This is what you were promised.' 27 Say: 'What think you? If God destroys me and those with me, or has mercy on us, then who will protect the unbelievers from a painful chastisement?' 28 Say: He is the Beneficent Allah, we believe in Him and on Him do we rely, so you shall come to know who it is that is in clear error. 29 Say, "Have you considered if your water were to sink into the ground, who could then bring you flowing water?" 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
