The months of the hajj (pilgrimage) season are well known. Whoever undertakes to complete the hajj rituals, must know that, after commencing the acts of Hajj, he is not allowed to have carnal relations or to lie or to swear by the Name of God. God knows all your good deeds. Supply yourselves for the journey. The best supply is piety. People of understanding have fear of Me. 197 And there is nothing wrong if you also seek the bounty of your Lord during the pilgrimage. Moreover, when you return from 'Arafat, stay at Mash'aril-Haram (Muzdalifah) and remember Allah. And remember Him just as He has enjoined you, for you had gone astray before this. 198 Then press on from where the people press on, and pray for God's forgiveness; God is All-forgiving, All-compassionate. 199 And when you have performed your holy rites remember God, as you remember your fathers or yet more devoutly. Now some men there are who say, 'Our Lord, give to us in this world'; such men shall have no part in the world to come. 200 And there are men who say: "Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and defend us from the torment of the Fire!" 201 For them there is in store a goodly portion out of that which they have earned. Allah is swift at reckoning. 202 ۞ Remember God during the stated days; but if a person comes away after two days, it will not be a sin; and if one tarries, he will not transgress, if he keep away from evil. Follow the law of God, and remember that you will have to gather before Him in the end. 203 There is the type of man whose speech about this world's life May dazzle thee, and he calls Allah to witness about what is in his heart; yet is he the most contentious of enemies. 204 And when he goes away, he strives throughout the land to cause corruption therein and destroy crops and animals. And Allah does not like corruption. 205 And when it said unto him: fear Allah, arrogance taketh him to sin. Enough for him is Hell: surely an ill resort! 206 On the other side, there is another type of man who devotes his whole life to please Allah, and Allah is gracious to such of His servants. 207 O Ye who believe! enter into Islam wholly, and follow not the foot steps of the Satan, verily he is unto you an enemy manifest. 208 And if ye slide back after the clear proofs have come unto you, then know that Allah is Mighty, Wise. 209 What are they waiting for, except that Allah’s punishment should come through stretched clouds and the angels descend and the matter be finished? And all matters are directed only towards Allah. 210
