Then none believed in Musa save a posterity of his people, through fear of Fir'awn and their chiefs, lest he should persecute them; and verily Fir'awn was lofty in the land, and verily he was of the extravagant. 83 Moses said: 'My people! If you believe in Allah and are truly Muslims then place your reliance on Him alone.' 84 They said: In Allah we put trust. Our Lord! Oh, make us not a lure for the wrongdoing folk; 85 “And with Your mercy, rescue us from the disbelievers.” 86 We revealed to Moses and his brother: 'Take certain houses for your people in Egypt. Make your houses a direction (for pray); establish the prayer; and give glad tidings to the believers' 87 Moses prayed, "Our Lord, You have bestowed upon Pharaoh and his nobles pomp and wealth in the present life, whereby they lead people astray from Your path. Our Lord, destroy their riches and harden their hearts, so that they shall not believe until they are faced with grievous punishment." 88 He said, 'Your prayer is answered; so go you straight, and follow not the way of those that know not.' 89 ۞ And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Fir'aun (Pharaoh) with his hosts followed them in oppression and enmity, till when drowning overtook him, he said: "I believe that La ilaha illa (Huwa): (none has the right to be worshipped but) He," in Whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am one of the Muslims (those who submit to Allah's Will)." 90 Now (you believe) while you refused to believe before and you were one of the Mufsidun (evil-doers, corrupts, etc.). 91 But this day We save thee in thy body that thou mayst be a portent for those after thee. Lo! most of mankind are heedless of Our portents. 92
