The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 and hastily turned away, 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
