Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The Thamud and the 'Ad People (branded) as false the Stunning Calamity! 4 Then as to Samood, they were destroyed by an excessively severe punishment. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 which He willed against them for seven nights and eight days without cease, so that in the end thou couldst see those people laid low [in death,] as though they were so many [uprooted] trunks of hollow palm trees: 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 On that day, the inevitable event will take place 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 On that Day, he whose Record is given to him in his right hand will say: “Lo! Read my Record! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 And so he will find himself in a happy state of life, 21 in a lofty paradise, 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 'Eat and drink with wholesome appetite for that you did long ago, in the days gone by.' 24 But as for him whose record shall be placed in his left hand, he will exclaim: "Oh, would that I had never been shown this my record, 25 And not known my account! 26 Oh, would that it had been death! 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 [Allah will say], "Seize him and shackle him. 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in Allah, the Great, 33 "And would not encourage the feeding of the indigent! 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 that none excepting the sinners eat.' 37
