Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Indeed We sent Nooh towards his people saying that, “Warn your people before the painful punishment comes upon them.” 1 [And Noah] said: "O my people! I am but a plain warner to you, [sent to tell you] 2 "That ye should worship Allah, fear Him and obey me: 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said: "O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day: 5 but my calling has only increased them in flight. 6 And every time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers into their ears and wrapped up their faces with their garments and obstinately clung to their attitude, and waxed very proud. 7 "Then verily, I called to them openly (aloud); 8 “Then I also told them publicly and also spoke to them softly in private.” 9 and told them, "Ask forgiveness from your Lord; He is All-forgiving". 10 ‘He will send down abundant rain for you from the sky.’ 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What is the matter with you that you deny the greatness of God, 13 "'Seeing that it is He that has created you in diverse stages? 14 Have you not regarded how God created seven heavens one upon another, 15 and set the moon therein for a light and the sun for a lamp? 16 And Allah has made you grow out of the earth as a growth: 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 Allah has made the earth spread out for you 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
