The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
O the Cloaked One! (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) 1 Arise and warn! 2 And thine Lord magnify! 3 and purify your robes, 4 And stay away from idols. 5 And do not confer favor to acquire more 6 But for your Lord be patient. 7 Finally, when the Trumpet is sounded, 8 it will be a hard day 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave him to Me whom I created alone, 11 And to whom I granted extensive wealth 12 and sons to be by his side, 13 And I adjusted affairs for him adjustably; 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 Nay! He is forward unto Our signs; 16 I will constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 For he thought and he plotted;- 18 May he be condemned! 19 May be then be accursed, how he plotted! 20 Then he looked, 21 And frowned and puckered his brow, 22 then he retreated, and waxed proud. 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 Naught is this but the word of Man. 25 Anon shall I roast him into the Scorching Fire. 26 - Ah, what will convey unto thee what that burning is! - 27 Naught doth it permit to endure, and naught doth it leave alone!- 28 It scorches the mortal. 29 there are nineteen [angels] in charge of it -- 30 And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve - that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, "What does Allah intend by this as an example?" Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity. 31
