▼ 74 The Hidden Secret
Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay! By the moon 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 except the Companions of the Right. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 From the guilty. 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They said, “We never used to offer the prayer.” 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 “Till death overcame us.” 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 As they were frightened asses 50 fleeing -- before a lion? 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 Nay, verily, this is an admonition 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
