Nay! By the moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And [by] the morning when it brightens, 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 A warning unto humankind 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say, 'We were not of those who prayed, and 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and rejected the Day of Judgment 46 till the Certain came to us.' -- 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
