NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 Surely it (hell) is one of the gravest (misfortunes), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To any of you that chooses to go forward (by working righteous deeds), or to remain behind (by commiting sins), 37 Every soul is held in pledge against its own deeds, 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 In Gardens they will question 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 "And we used to talk falsehood (all that which Allah hated) with vain talkers. 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the death) that is certain." 47 And so, of no benefit to them could be the intercession of any that would intercede for them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
