And when Abraham said to his father and his people, 'Surely I am quit of that you serve, 26 "(I worship) only Him Who made me, and He will certainly guide me." 27 And he made it a word enduring among his posterity; haply so they would return. 28 Nay, but I gave these and their fathers enjoyment of days, until the truth came unto them, and a manifest Messenger. 29 When the truth came to them, they said, "This is magic and we have no faith in it". 30 Then they said, "Why this Quran had not been revealed to a man from either of the two great towns". 31 Do they distribute the mercy of your Lord? It is We who have apportioned among them their livelihood in the life of this world and have raised some of them above others in degrees [of rank] that they may make use of one another for service. But the mercy of your Lord is better than whatever they accumulate. 32 And were it not that mankind would have become one community, We might well have appointed, for those who disbelieve in the Beneficent, roofs of silver for their houses and stairs (of silver) whereby to mount, 33 And (silver) doors to their houses, and thrones (of silver) on which they could recline, 34 And also adornments of gold. But all this were nothing but conveniences of the present life: The Hereafter, in the sight of thy Lord is for the Righteous. 35
