Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 Unto thy Lord that day will be the driving. 30
