Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So, when the sight shall be dazed, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And how many faces on that Day will be woe-begone 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
